Start 2024 right with the Pikmin Bloom New Year Event
New year, new Pikmin!
With just a few days left of 2023, Niantic would like to take this opportunity to thank their wonderful community for sharing the year with Pikmin Bloom! They hope you’ve had a great time walking with your Pikmin squad!
Now, what are your plans for these last few days, and for the New Year like? Niantic imagines some of you may be busy with some end of the year cleaning, or just relaxing and taking a much deserved break… scrolling through your Lifelog and reviewing your 2023 memories may be a good idea too!
In Pikmin Bloom, Niantic is getting ready to kick off 2024 with a New Year challenge, starting January 1st, where you’ll be able to meet 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin! They’ll sure keep your squad vibe jolly and fun as you set out on your first walks of 2024!
The Pikmin Bloom New Year’s Event starts January 1st and runs to January 28th, 2024, and you can see the full details below.
Clear Event Challenge missions to obtain seedlings for 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin
For every Event Challenge mission that you clear, you’ll be able to obtain rewards at random. These can be Party Poppers, seedlings that grow into 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin, flower petals, or other items. Additionally, when the Big Flower at the center of the stage blooms, you’re guaranteed to receive a Gold Seedling on top of the random rewards.
Missions for the event will be published here on the day the event starts – stay tuned!
Seedlings obtained through clearing Event Challenge missions will grow into either Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Winged or Rock 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin. Please note that you’ll meet them at random and are not guaranteed to complete the whole set.
Collect Party Poppers to obtain special Mii costumes
Once the event starts, you’ll receive missions requesting you to collect Party Poppers. By clearing these missions, you’ll be able to obtain New Year Event exclusive Mii costumes.
Party Poppers can be obtained from flower planting, Mystery Boxes, as a bonus with the purchase of an Event Premium Pass, and from the Event Challenge Special Pack.
Planting 100 flowers awards 1 Party Popper. The total number of Party Poppers obtained while flower planting will be displayed in the results screen.
The seedlings obtained from clearing these missions grow into Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Winged or Rock 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin at random. Please note that there’s no guarantee that you’ll complete the whole set.
Once the New Year Event ends, the Party Popper missions will disappear. Please note that the Party Poppers have no purpose outside of this event.

When you purchase a Premium Event Pass, you’ll be able to enjoy the following perks for the duration of the event (January 1st through 28th):
For every stage cleared, you’ll receive extra seasonal nectar that you can put to good use in order to clear event-related tasks!
When you clear the 4th stage, you will receive an additional Gold Seedling for your desired color (red, yellow, blue, purple, white, pink, or gray) of 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin. This applies to the 4th stage and any subsequent stages that are a multiple of 4 (8th, 12th, 16th, etc).
- The Event Premium Pass is available to users from Lv20 onwards.
- The Event Premium Pass won’t be displayed to users at or below Lv19.
- Event Premium Pass rewards apply retroactively for cleared Event Challenge missions, regardless of when you obtain it at the shop.
Do not miss out on early bird bonuses!
Event Premium Pass purchases within the first week of the event (until January 7th 23:59 local time) will include Party Poppers as a bonus. Please note the early bird bonus will no longer be available after the first week of the event.
Destroy Mystery Mushrooms to get Mystery Boxes!
During the event, when you destroy Mystery Mushrooms, you’ll receive Mystery Boxes that contain items such as Party Poppers and flower petals, among others. Additionally, on weekends, you may encounter Giant Mystery Mushrooms that carry more Party Poppers than Normal Mystery Mushrooms.
⚫️Giant Mushrooms will appear on the following weekends:
- January 13th & 14th
- January 20th & 21st
- January 27th & 28th
During the event, 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin will be stronger than usual against Mushrooms
All postcards your Pikmin bring will feature event-limited designs!

Event Challenge Special Pack (Includes a Weekly Bonus)
Contains Party Poppers and other items to help you efficiently tackle missions. During the New Year Event, this Pack will also include Expedition Drones that may help you with expeditions if you’re traveling!
Additionally, this pack will include 2024 Party Glasses for your Mii as a Weekly Bonus. The color will vary depending on which week you purchase it:
There’s no limit to how many times you can purchase this pack. However, please note that you will only receive the Mii costume bonus once each week.
New Year Gift Bundle / New Year Gift Bundle (Large) – This item is available for the purposes of gifting to others only. You can send them as presents to the special people in your life! The New Year Gift Bundle (Large) includes Expedition Drones.

Special Mission Ticket: 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin
When you purchase this ticket and clear the dedicated mission, you’ll obtain a gold seedling in your desired color (red, yellow, blue, purple, white, pink, or gray) for 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin. The mission must be completed by February 29 2024 at 23:59.
Gold Seedlings obtained from inviting friends and family to play Pikmin Bloom between January 1st and January 31st will grow into Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Winged or Rock 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin.
