SEGA trumpets Sonic the Hedgehog 2's success as top-grossing videogame adaptation of all-time in the U.S.
A Super Sonic success
SEGA has many reasons to be proud of Sonic the Hedgehog 2’s box office, but the biggest honor right now is the film being the highest-grossing video game movie adaptation of all-time in the United States.
The film’s U.S. box office total sits at $162.74 million right now, which surpasses the previous film’s $148.97 million. Along with that, the movie sits at $168.9 million internationally, and has reached $331.64 million worldwide. This worldwide title also surpasses the previous film.
The next targets right now are Uncharted and Warcraft, which are second and first place globally respectively. Warcraft’s total sits at $439 million, while Uncharted reached $395 million.
