At the end of last year, ININ Games announced that they were bringing The Legend of Steel Empire to the Switch sometime in January 2024. Just recently we learned the official release date, which is locked in for January 23rd, 2024. This includes both a physical and digital release, and you can see a new trailer spreading the word above.

The Legend of Steel Empire is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up video game was initially released in 1992 on the Sega Genesis Console and later ported to the Game Boy Advance 2004 and Nintendo 3 DS 2014 Due to its unique aesthetic designs, Steel Empire is one of the most notable shoot-em-up games released in the 1990’s.

This HD remaster is based on the PC game from a few years back but features some important additions: All graphics have been improved in high definition, the controls have been reworked, and there is a leveling system: the more items you collect, the stronger you get, but also the opponents will get more resilient, and the hordes will get bigger.. Ahem, anyway, enter one of the Striker airplanes or the Zeppelin with an aerial mine launcher and fight your way through seven complex stages full of well-balanced euro-shmup action. In short: A Remaster - Restored with Love!
