Arcade Archives: Super Contra: The Alien Strikes Back heads to Switch Jan. 18th, 2024

HAMSTER Co. is happy to announce that Super Contra: The Alien Strikes Back will be released for Nintendo Switch on January 18th, 2024, available digitally for Arcade Archives series by HAMSTER. “Super Contra: The Alien Strikes Back” is an action game released by Konami in 1987.

The game stars Bill Rizer and Lance Bean as they are sent to thwart another alien invasion from the vicious Red Falcon. Like in the original Contra, the game can be played by up to two players simultaneously. The game retains the side-scrolling format from the previous game, discarding only the pseudo-3D and fixed screen segments. Instead, Super Contra features vertically-scrolling stages played from an overhead perspective, in which the player can move in eight directions. (h/t Wiki)
