Square Enix and Tokyo RPG Factory have teamed up on a number of titles over the years, including Switch releases like I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear and Oninaki. It appears Square Enix has been quite happy working with the developer, and now they’re making the move to gobble the company up.

Square Enix has announced that Tokyo RPG Factory, which is already a subsidiary of the publisher, will now be absorbed under their umbrella. Following that move, Square Enix will be dissolving Tokyo RPG Factory.

Following the company’s dissolvement, Square Enix will be taking over the rights and obligations tied to all previously-released Tokyo RPG Factory titles. How this will impact the games remaining for sale or any online components remains to be seen.
