Trainers, the Carnival of Love event is coming soon to Pokémon GO, bringing festivities for all to enjoy! For the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Oricorio—if you’re lucky!

Carnival of Love kicks off in Pokémon GO Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. and runs to Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. You can find complete details on this event below.

Event Bonuses

  • Increased chance of receiving Candy XL when walking with your buddy
  • Two guaranteed Candy XL for evolving Pokémon

For the duration of the Carnival of Love event, you’ll be able to change your Natural Form Furfrou to Heart Trim Furfrou! Follow these steps to change Furfrou’s Trim.

  • Find Furfrou in your Pokémon Storage, tap it to check its summary, and then tap the Change - Form button to bring up a menu that lists the available trims.
  • Select your preferred trim.
  • Changing your Furfrou from one trim to any other trim will cost 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.

The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Oricorio—if you’re lucky!

  • Baile Style Oricorio: Appearing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
  • Pom-Pom Style Oricorio: Appearing in the Americas
  • Pa’u Style Oricorio: Appearing in African, Asian, Pacific, and Caribbean islands
  • Sensu Style Oricorio: Appearing in the Asia-Pacific region

Flabébé with differently colored flowers will also be appearing in the wild depending on where you are in the world:

  • Red Flower Flabébé: Appearing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
  • Blue Flower Flabébé: Appearing in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Yellow Flower Flabébé: Appearing in the Americas

If you’re lucky, you might encounter White Flower Flabébé and Orange Flower Flabébé, no matter what region you’re in.

Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available! The following Pokémon will be available to encounter when you complete Field Research tasks!

A Carnival of Love–themed Collection Challenge is coming! Complete the Collection Challenge to receive XP, Stardust, and an encounter with Roserade.

The following avatar item will be available to purchase in the in-game shop during this event and will continue to be available after the event ends!

Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during the Carnival of Love event where you can enter event-themed Pokémon. Trainers will be able to enter their biggest Buddy Pokémon!

  • Buddy Pokémon must be a Great Buddy or higher to be entered in the Showcase.

Trainers located in Brazil can look forward to earning twice the XP for catching Pokémon during the Carnival of Love event in celebration of Brazilian Carnaval!

For US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research.

Timed Research rewards include the following.

  • Stardust, XP, and two Incense
  • Five encounters with Spinda with a heart pattern

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.
