Square Enix Music has been sharing a decent amount of covers lately, and that trend continues with yet another video. In the clip above, you can hear a piano cover of “Meridian Child” from Trials of Mana, as performed by Taku Yabuki.

Taku Yabuki started playing the classic piano in his childhood, stumbling upon jazz when he was 21 years old. He immersed in the jazz scene, which let him study at Berklee College Of Music for half a year. Yabuki has collaborated with many Japanese singers, musicians and artists in various subgenres soon after. Taku is now the keyboardist of KOENJIHYAKKEI, formed by Tatsuya Yoshida. (h/t ProgArchives)

The above version of Meridian Child was both recorded and mixed by Mai Kondo, with the original composition coming from Hiroki Kikuta. The recording session itself was held at Landmark Studio.
