Paramount’s decision to go all-out on a Sonic universe of films and TV shows continues to pay dividends, as the expanding franchise continues to set records for the company. The latest milestone achieved for Paramount comes way of the debut trailer for the upcoming Knuckles TV show on Paramount+.

Earlier this weeks, Paramount shared the first trailer for Knuckles, and fans were incredibly eager to check it out. Paramount has since confirmed that the trailer has set a new viewership record for a Paramount+ original, reaching 4.3 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours. That figure doesn’t include the other places the trailer was shared, so there’s no doubt millions more watched the trailer on X, TikTok, Facebook and more.

The new live-action series will follow Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior. The series takes place between the films SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3. You can tune in to Knuckles on Paramount+ come April 26th, 2024.
