The 2024 Pokémon World Championships are set to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii…but who cares about that?! Let’s look forward to the future…the far off future by skipping 2025 altogether and look at what’s coming for Pokémon Co. in 2026!

While not mentioned by Pokémon Co. anywhere at this time, Biz Journals is reporting that San Francisco has been chosen as the host town for the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. In particular, the event will be held at the Moscone Center, the city’s biggest space for conventions and other major gatherings. Dates and other specifics remain to be revealed.

The Pokémon World Championships are the pinnacle of competitive Pokémon play. Typically occurring in August of each year, the Pokémon World Championships feature the best Pokémon players from around the globe. Players will compete in the three-day event for a prize pool of over 2 million dollars (the highest prize pool in the Championship Series circuit), the title of Pokémon World Champion, and return invitations for the following year’s Worlds.
