First Borderlands movie trailer drops Feb. 21st, 2024, teaser video, poster and stills released today

Following a series of reshoots that took place in January of this year, the Borderlands movie will see release on August 9th, 2024. As far as we know, this will be a theater release only, so you’ll have to make the trip to your local movie theater if you want to see this one at launch.

Ahead of the movie’s launch, we’re finally getting a look at how things have come together. The very first teaser for the Borderlands movie has been revealed, and you can check it out above. This teaser is meant to be a very quick glimpse at the film, and its main purpose is to spread the word on the full-length trailer, which is launching tomorrow. We’ve also gotten a pair of stills and a poster for the film, and you can check those out below.

In the Borderlands movie, Lilith (played by 2x Oscar winner Cate Blanchett), is an infamous treasure hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramirez), the universe’s most powerful S.O.B. She forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits – Roland (Kevin Hart), once a highly respected soldier, but now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), the scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (Jack Black), a persistently wiseass robot.
