The Japanese version of today’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase included some titles not featured in the English versions of the presentation. One of those titles was Hokkaidō Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsk ni Kiyu, and you can check out the debut trailer for it above.

Hokkaidō Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsk ni Kiyu was originally released for the PC in 1984, and then it would eventually make its way to the Famicom in 1987. This 2024 Switch version is a remake of the original Hokkaidō Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsk ni Kiyu with extra features and more.

Hokkaidō Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsk ni Kiyu is a point‑and‑click visual novel adventure game originally designed by Yuji Horii, who’s best known as the creator of the Dragon Quest franchise. Hokkaidō Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsk ni Kiyu is the spiritual successor to Portopia Renzoku Satsujin Jiken. In this title, a man’s corpse is discovered near a sea wharf and the player must investigate to find out how the man died. (h/t StrategyWiki)
