Temtem is a massively multiplayer creature-collection adventure where players seek adventure in the lovely Airborne Archipelago alongside a Temtem squad. Temtem fans have been plugging away at the game for years now, enjoying fresh content and more through a variety of updates. Unfortunately, the time for brand-new features and regular updates is soon coming to an end.

The team behind Temtem has released a very lengthy statement on the game, and they’ve revealed some good and bad news. The good news is that microtransactions will soon be removed from the game; a move fans have been hoping to see for awhile now. The bad news is that while one more content update is coming, it seems subsequent updates will focus on keeping things running smoothly rather than adding in fresh experiences.

There’s a litany of reasons the Temtem team is heading in this direction, with a large part being a lot of technical debt at the studio. If you’d like to read more about this decision and the future of Temtem, you can find the complete message from the dev team here.
