Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door comes to Switch May 23rd, 2024
Has it been a thousand years already?
Nintendo has decided to use Mario day to share a release date for one of the mustachioed wonder’s upcoming Switch titles, and it’s not that far off at all.
We’ve finally learned the release date for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and you won’t have to wait too long to revisit this classic. Nintendo has confirmed that the title is set to arrive May 23rd, 2024, so we’re just over two months away of seeing how this revamped GameCube classic holds up!
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the nefarious X-Nauts are after the treasure behind the Thousand-Year Door! With a map from Princess Peach, and the help of a few locals, Mario journeys through a colorful world made of paper to find them first. To prevail in this quest, you’ll have to level up Mario and his friends, master timing-based attacks and badges to impress the audience on the stage of combat, and make use of all the abilities that come with being cursed—er, conveniently made of paper—like folding into a plane to cross big gaps or turning sideways to slip through narrow openings.

2M agoI'm still bummed that they cut the frame rate in half for this version. Remakes should always improve on the originals, not regress.

2M agoI remember tearing up at this one back in the day, but only at the very end. I've only grown sentimental over the years, so I bet it can mess me up even more this time!
