Earlier today, Nintendo announced that Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door would be coming to Switch on May 23rd, 2024. Turns out that’s not all they had to share on the game, as a wealth of new assets have also been released.

Nintendo has officially opened the Japanese website for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and it includes a new round of gameplay footage, along with new screens and art. In the video above you can check out the fresh footage from the upcoming remake, which has Mario and the gang looking better than ever. The video also offers a slideshow of the new screens and art, but you can get a closer look for yourself at the official website.

That’s not all though, as you can check out a video below that offers a comparison between the original Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and the Switch remake. Check it out to see just how much crisper the Switch revamp is!

Heart skipped a beat there. March 23rd!?
Alas, I already own this on the GameCube, and I have it ripped to a hard drive so I can play the GC original on my Wii U (via homebrew). I definitely don’t need this game, but wow it looks really great. I’m still tempted. Man Nintendo has me wrapped around their finger…
