The Pokémon Local Acts initiative to install 6 more "Poké Lid" manhole covers

2023 was a great year for the Pokémon Local Acts initiative, and clearly the organization has a lot more to share in 2024. As of today, we’ve learned that 6 more Pokémon-themed manhole covers will be making their way to Japan’s Tokushima area very soon!

This organization’s goal is to beautify certain areas of Japan, while also attracting tourists to areas. One of the big efforts of the PLA has been replacing manhole covers with covers that spotlight Pokémon, and it’s been a great success so far.

This time around, three more covers are on the way to Mie Prefecture, and you can see their designs in the image at the top of this post. These designs feature Pokémon such as Cyclizar, Lechonk and Oshawott.
