The Super Mario Bros. Movie is packed to the gills with references, locations, characters and more from the Mario universe, but of course, not everything could make the cut. There are so many familiar and fan-favorite aspects that didn’t make it into the film, and now it seems a big-name character was culled from the development process as well.

An online portfolio of concept art and more has been discovered for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and it contains works that look quite similar to what we get in the final film, along with a bunch of other elements that didn’t make the cut. The portfolio is literally stuffed with amazing concepts, designs and ideas that didn’t see the light of day in the final movie, and that includes some screen time for Princess Daisy.

We’ll refrain from sharing the artwork here, as it tends to get copyright claimed whenever we do, but the portfolio remains online for the time being. That portfolio includes a look at Princess Daisy in all her glory, who’s featured in an image that’s exploding with a ton of other characters and imagery from the Mario universe.

If you’d like to sift through the portfolio for more art and even some test animations, you can find it right here.

I'm fine with them waiting on Daisy until there's more room for her.

But one of the pictures she's in looks like a better final battle than the one we got.

I definitely want to see Daisy included, but I agree with you. I'd rather wait to see her utilized properly and in a considerable role rather than have her trotted out for a few minutes.
