Princess Peach has finally been given her second starring role with Princess Peach: Showtime!. To usher in this new era of Peach domination, Nintendo hosted an official launch event at their flagship store in New York City. The event featured gameplay demos, activities, tasty treats, and even the chance to meet her highness of Mushroom Kingdom in person.

If you weren’t able to attend the event yourself, I’ve put together a series of photos and impressions to simulate the full experience! For a sweet taste of everything that was on offer, check out the details below.

Half of the entire second floor of the Nintendo Store was fully decked out with Princess Peach decorations and activities. As you can see from the photos above, there were plenty of folks having a good time trying the Princess Peach: Showtime! game demo out for themselves.

This was the same demo that’s currently available for free on the eShop, but of course, Nintendo experts were on hand to offer tips and advice. This was especially helpful if you were playing on the giant display, since everyone else could easily observe your gameplay techniques (no pressure!).

There were also a couple of activities for kids (or adults who are very in touch with their inner child). First, was a series of blocks that could be spun around to view different poses of Peach in her various costumes. Next, were some giant magnetic puzzles featuring the game’s key artwork! These were a lot of fun to try to put together, even if I did throw my back out from crouching down to reach the pieces.

Wowie zowie! Princess Peach even went ahead and baked a selection of delicious treats for visitors. These were sugar cookies with raspberry jam filling in the middle - tasty!

Nintendo is also partnering with Kung Fu Tea stores for some Princess Peach inspired drink flavors. This includes Green Peach Tea which attendees got to sample. (Check out Kung Fu Tea locations near you to get your hands on this and other limited edition flavors).

Above, here’s a look at some of the Princess Peach merch that was available during the show. T-shirts, bags, and more were on display in the normally accessible areas of the Nintendo store. Launch event attendees also were lucky enough to get their hands on some cool swag - bags, mini-programs, cups, and more.

To fit in with the theatrical theme of Princess Peach: Showtime!, Peach’s name was up in lights, showing off her various costumed appearances. Each of her costumes was presented like the poster for a magical, theatrical event. Which one would you choose to attend?

Of course, Peach herself made an appearance and was happy to take photos with guests. She was looking predictably fabulous (and pretty similar to her look at Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios). It’s always nice when the star of a game shows up to officially sanction her own launch event. We’re all very proud of you, Peach!

Princess Peach: Showtime! is available right now on Nintendo Switch, along with a free demo on the eShop if you’d like to try the game out for yourself. Get yourself some Kung Fu Tea and pink apparel, and you could host a launch event of your very own at home!

Nice on the event, gross on the raspberry filling, yuck. I am loving the details in the game, you can even slide down banisters. Patisserie Peach is definitely not one I like.
