NieR:Automata Ver1.1a's second season set for July 2024, new trailer shared

After months and months of waiting, we finally know when the next episodes of the NieR:Automata Ver1.1a anime are going to air.

A new trailer has been shared by Aniplex, and it confirms that NieR:Automata Ver1.1a will see its second season arrive in Japan sometime in July 2024. You can check out that fresh trailer above, which gives a sneak peek of what’s to come.

NieR:Automata Ver1.1a can be watched on Crunchyroll here in the states, and that support will no doubt continue with season 2. As to when a subtitled version will appear on that service, it should be very shortly after episodes air in Japan. Once we have the exact release timing, we’ll make sure to let you know the details.

NieR:Automata Ver1.1a takes place in the distant future, 5012. The sudden aerial invasion of Earth by and their creations led mankind to the brink of extinction. The surviving number of humans who took refuge on the moon to organize a counterattack using soldiers to recapture Earth. However, the war reaches a stalemate as the continue to multiply infinitely. In turn, humanity deploys a new unit of android soldiers as an ultimate weapon: YoRHa. Newly dispatched to Earth 2B joins 9S, the analyst currently stationed there, where amid their mission, they encounter a myriad of mysterious phenomena... This is the story of these lifeless and their endless fight for the sake of mankind.
