HYPERCHARGE Unboxed came to the Switch all the way back in 2020, but sadly it’s been roughly a year since the game received an update. The good news is that big content is coming, but the bad news is that we’ll have to wait.

HYPERCHARGE Unboxed developer Digital Cybercherries has just announced that a crossplay update is coming to the game, and it’s going to land on Xbox and PC first. That’s happening on May 31st for those platforms, but Switch owners will need quite the supply of patience while waiting for this update.

According to the HYPERCHARGE Unboxed Discord, the dev team has said that the Switch version of the game will receive a massive update, but it’s not coming until next year at the earliest. As for what the update will include besides crossplay, Switch owners can look forward to an engine update, optimizations and more.

While we wait for more details on the big Switch update, a new video has surfaced today that pits the Switch version of HYPERCHARGE Unboxed against the newly-released Xbox Series X version. Give the video above a watch to see how the Switch version stacks up.
