Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series comes to Switch on July 8th, 2022, which means we’ve got a bit more time until we can go hands-on with this one. Until then, we can look at some technical details Bandai Namco shared via the game’s official Japanese website.

First up, the website claims that Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series will run at ‘up to 60 fps,’ which certainly makes it seem like the framerate may dip below that from time to time. Hopefully we can expect the frame rate to stay close to 60 fps for the bulk of both adventures.

Second, when it comes to resolution, the game will run ‘up to’ 1080p when docked, and 720p when in portable. Once again, it seems that we’re working with a bit of a dynamic resolution here, so things may shift during certain intense portions of gameplay.

Finally, Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series will take up 8 GB on Switch. This is roughly 4 GB less than the same game on other platforms.

I'll have to wait and see how this one turns out on Switch first. That's a bit concerning when they admit this far in advance that the Switch version is going to have performance issues. It's just a matter of how severe they are. If it's really minor, that's fine. But if it's really bad, then I'll have to consider buying the game on a different platform.

So in other words they wanted to cheap out on the 16 GB card and got rid of 4 GB of whatever the fuck to make it fit on a 8 GB card. And now they run into performance issues because of it? SHOCKING
