Beware of a new wave of hacked Pokémon being distributed online
Be safe, trainers
If you’re a fan of Pokémon games, please make sure you’re extra cautious with how you handle yourself online. We’re sad to report that a series of maliciously-hacked Pokémon are being sent out, and they can cause your games to crash or require reboots.
These Pokemon can be obtained by trading through Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, Pokémon Sword/Shield, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and Pokemon HOME. As soon as you receive these hacked Pokémon, your game can face severe issues.
The good news is that these hacked Pokémon don’t impact HOME as severely as the other games, and it’s possible to fix the situation through this app. If you have one of the hacked Pokémon, it should be identified by invalid markings. All you have to do is change the markings and the hacked Pokémon should be set right.
Of course, the best solution to avoiding this issue is to hang back on trading all together until an official patch is sent out. We’ll be sure to let you know if/when that happens.
