RUMOR: Nintendo's upcoming Direct will be a Partner Showcase
Some may not be as hype about it but it's something!
Not everyone was a fan of the Partner Showcases. Understandable since they didn’t exactly contain any earth-shattering announcements but we did get some cool things like Shin Megami Tensei 5 shown off after years of silence. But I digress, from the folks over at VGC who cite the Spanish game magazine editor from one of his Twitch streams on Friday that he’s been told to expect new announcements from major publishers. He has some interesting specifics to say…
“I’ve also been told that some Persona game will be present, though I don’t know which game…”
“I’ve also been told there will be another game that has been available for some time on other platforms… it’s been available for four years now.”
VGC points out that years ago there were rumors about Rockstar bringing Red Dead Redemption 2 years ago and another Persona game coming to Switch? Could it be a port of one of the modern titles or maybe another spin-off? Persona recently made the jump to competing platforms and Switch is certainly in need of mainline goodness.
Nintendo’s first-party showings this year are already stacked with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Splatoon 3, and Bayonetta 3 - just to name a few. But with games like Red Dead Redemption and Persona, it’s hard to imagine too many would be disappointed by a Partner Showcase of that caliber. Where do you stand? Would you be excited if this all panned out?

1y agoWould be interesting to see how decent of a port RDR2 would run.

1y agoI read this earlier, I'd be very surprised if Red Dead Redemption 2 ran natively or it'll be critically downgraded. The old GTA trilogy was a disaster, especially on Switch. Maybe Rockstar could try porting GTA V.

1y agoAh, the RDR2 news actually makes me sad, considering what happened with KHs and RE, I can see them going that route of a cloud version.

1y agoI love ports or remasters/remakes of older games but I think I would prefer to see brand new third party content in a Partner Showcase. Only because the Partner Showcase presentations are shorter in run times.

1y agoI personally hope the rumor's false. I've got that hunger for Nintendo news and I won't be satisfied by a port I already could have played on another system.

1y agoHighly unlikely since Nintendo didn't show much for the second half of the year beside Splatoon 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
