After countless delays in what can only be described as production hell, could the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie adaptation from Blumhouse Productions finally be just around the corner? According to Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum, we are “dangerously close” to getting more news on the project, with him going on to say a 2023 release is certainly possible.

Once series creator Scott Cawthon finally decided on a screenplay he was happy with, it was announced that filming was scheduled for Spring 2021. After months of silence however, we then received the unfortunate news that the film lost its Director, Chris Columbus, delaying the project even further.

The film started development under Warner Bros. in 2015 before production moved over to Blumhouse three years later in 2018.
