Niantic has two reasons to celebrate Pokémon GO today. First up, the company held a very successful Pokémon GO Fest event in Berlin, where thousands gathered in person for a bit of Pokémon fighting, battling, and more.

Throughout the weekend event, Niantic reveals that over 14,000,000 Pokémon were caught, and trainers explored across 303,000 kilometres. That’s nearly 190k miles of foot traffic!

If you want to see more about Pokémon GO Fest: Berlin and how people celebrated, you can find an official blog for the event here.

Along with that, Niantic is also celebrating 6 years of Pokémon GO! It’s hard to believe the game launched that long ago, and the world has been enamored with it ever since. In honor of the big anniversary, Niantic put together a special video with some comments from trainers and more. Check out their tribute above!
