Summer is in full effect, which means there’s some very hot weather around the world. While it’s very important to stay hydrated and keep cool, Nintendo wants to make sure you keep your Switch safe from the sun as well.

Nintendo has shared a message via their official Japanese Twitter account to tell Switch owners to be careful with their Switch in the heat. Nintendo suggests not playing with the Switch in weather that’s above 95°, as the unit could end up overheating. You can see the company’s full message below.

“If you use the Nintendo Switch in a hot place, the temperature of the main unit may become high. Please use in the place of 5 to 35C. Also, if the intake and exhaust ports are blocked, the temperature of the main unit may rise. Make the air around the intake and exhaust ports better.

If the temperature of the main unit becomes too high, it may sleep automatically to protect the main unit. When playing in TV mode, install the Nintendo Switch Dock in a location that does not retain heat. If there is foreign matter or dust on the air intake / exhaust port of the main unit, remove it with a vacuum cleaner. For your safety, do not disassemble the main unit.”

Thanks to Sligeach_eire for the heads up!

You need to chill out while playing Switch otherwise it can be too hot to handle.
