Nintendo shares conflicting statements on Kirby’s Dream Buffet's release (UPDATE)
Digital or physical?
UPDATE: Nintendo has confirmed that Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a digital-only release. Any retailers, be they online or brick-and-mortar, will only sell access to a digital version of the game through direct purchase or eShop code. You can find our original post on this topic below.
Kirby’s Dream Buffet was announced for Switch earlier today, and it’s set to launch sometime this Summer. Wondering how you’ll be able to purchase this game? It seems even Nintendo themselves are confused.
If you looked at Nintendo’s tweet about the game, you’d think that Kirby’s Dream Buffet is only going to see a Switch eShop release. If you read Nintendo’s press release for the game, you saw that Kirby’s Dream Buffet will be available via the “Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch, the My Nintendo Store on Nintendo.com and at retail.”
We’ve reached out to Nintendo for clarification on this issue, and we’ll make sure we update you if/when they provide a statement.
