LIVE A LIVE is just over a week out from launch, and RPG fans around the world are chomping at the bit. This game released in Japan all the way back in 1994, and now we’re finally going to get an official localization. Of course, this is more than just a standard release, as LIVE A LIVE has been given a complete makeover, including the use of Square Enix’s HD-2D engine. It’s safe to say that LIVE A LIVE is back and better than ever!

To celebrate the game’s upcoming launch, Square Enix and Nintendo have released a special promo video. The featurette shows a custom piece of artwork from Designer Naoki Ikushima, and you get to see it from start to finish in time-lapse form. Just like the official artwork for the game itself, this one-of-a-kind sketch is a beauty!

LIVE A LIVE is a storied RPG directed by Takashi Tokita, known for his work on CHRONO TRIGGER and FINAL FANTASY IV, has been revitalized in the stunning HD-2D visual style and is being released outside of Japan for the first time. Each story features rearranged versions of the original music written by KINGDOM HEARTS series and FINAL FANTASY XV composer, Yoko Shimomura.
