Nintendo’s last Nintendo Live event was held in 2019, but the Big N held off on subsequent events due to the pandemic. It seems the Big N feels things are now safe enough for Nintendo Live’s return, as the next event has been scheduled for Japan Oct. 8th and 9th, 2022. That said, Nintendo is asking those who attend to wear a mask, and attendees will be chosen through a random lottery.

As usual, Nintendo Live will feature a series of game demos, tournaments, and more for attendees to enjoy. The breakdown for this year’s event is as follows:

  • Splatoon 3 tournament
  • Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament
  • Nintendo Switch Sports tournament
  • Splatoon 3 concert
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons concert
  • various game demos
  • Yoiko stage show with Nintendo Switch Sports
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe stage show with participants and prizes

Nintendo Live 2022 will be held at Tokyo Big Site in Odaiba, and you can check out the event’s official website here.

Thanks to Sligeach_eire for the heads up!

Sounds like a good opportunity for us to learn a bit more about Splatoon 3... and maybe the next wave of Mario Kart 8 courses, if we're lucky.

This event isn't until October. Splatoon 3 will be out in early September, and we should know about "the next wave of Mario Kart 8 courses" before then. We'll probably have the next Nintendo Direct before Nintendo Live.

Good point... I totally missed the date. I hope you're right about having a Nintendo Direct by then.
