Donkey Kong gets some attention on Last Week Tonight With John Oliver

Last Week Tonight With John Oliver has shown Nintendo a ton of love over the years. There have been numerous Nintendo-related jokes that have put the spotlight on Mario, Luigi, The Legend of Zelda, and many others. Now we can add Donkey Kong to that list.

Some episodes of Last Week Tonight end with a fluff piece outside of the main story, and that’s where Donkey Kong came into play in the most recent episode. The story involves a bit of street art in Australia that caused a major ruckus, and John Oliver has been trying to get his hands on it. That bit of street art just happens to be a giant banana with a skull face on it, so you’re probably starting to see how htis ties into Donkey Kong.
