The latest Switch firmware update came in early June and bumped the Switch up to Version 14.1.2. That firmware required you to download a patch and apply it, but did you know that Nintendo has released two tweaks to Version 14.1.2 since that don’t prompt you with a download request or force you to reboot? The second of those updates just happened, and we have info on what it does.

Nintendo hasn’t shared details on what the most recent ‘rebootless’ update did, but dataminers have discovered that the bad word list has been updated once again. Nintendo has now restricted use of the following:

  • A racial slur for Japanese people
  • Various misspellings of Hitler
  • a sexual term
  • “http://icloud.com” and “http://outlook.com”

If you’re wondering about the links being blocked, these were most likely added to prevent email entry in some text fields.
