Somehow, we’re less than a week away from August. If you’re a Pokémon GO Trainer, that means you have a whole new month’s worth of content to look forward to! Niantic detailed what’s ahead today, and you can see the complete rundown below.
Pokémon GO Fest 2022
Pokémon GO Fest: Sapporo – From Friday, August 5, 2022, to Sunday, August 7, 2022, Pokémon GO Fest comes to Sapporo, Japan! Explore the city and Nakajima Park—tickets are on sale now!
Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale – Stay tuned for more details on the global finale event taking place on August 27.
August Community Day
Join us for August Community Day on Saturday, August 13, 2022! Galarian Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon, will appear in the wild!

2022 Pokémon World Championships event: The 2022 Pokémon World Championships will feature Pokémon GO for the very first time, and we’re holding an in-game celebration from Thursday, August 18, 2022, to Tuesday, August 23, 2022! Keep an eye out for more details.

Pokémon Spotlight Hours
In the month of August, Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, and each will spotlight a different Pokémon and a special bonus!
- August 2: Hisuian Voltorb ǀ 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon
- August 9: Nidoran♀ ǀ 2× XP for catching Pokémon
- August 16: Joltik ǀ 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
- August 23: Nidoran♂ ǀ 2× Candy for transferring Pokémon
- August 30: Pidove ǀ 2× XP for evolving Pokémon
Language selection will be rolling out this month!
Soon, Trainers will be able to change their language settings in Pokémon GO! Trainers will be able to play Pokémon GO in their language of choice, regardless of the language used on their device. The following languages will be available when this setting launches.

Trainers will need to close and reopen Pokémon GO for any language changes to take effect.
