Actor who portrayed Scorpion in Mortal Kombat (2021) doesn't know if the character will return for the sequel
It's not Mortal Kombat without Scorpion!
While he didn’t have the biggest role in the film, Scorpion was very much a part of the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie. Just the other day we got official confirmation that the film sequel is greenlit, so we’ll see the long-running franchise hit theaters once again in the not-too-distant future. Will Scorpion be making a return for that movie? It seems those details haven’t been locked in.
In an interview with Comicbook.com, Hiroyuki Sanada, the actor who portrayed Scorpion in Mortal Kombat (2021) was asked about reprising the role for the upcoming sequel. Unfortunately, it seems no one behind the film has contacted him yet.
“I have no idea, I didn’t hear anything officially yet. But, I hope they’ll make a Scorpion part, and I will get to say ‘Get over here!’ again.”
The one thing we know for sure is that the film is very early on, so it’s quite possible details on Scorpion and many other characters haven’t been locked in. If Scorpion does make a return, let’s hope Sanada gets a chance to portray the character once more.
