SUNSOFT may not be a big name nowadays, but they were definitely a recognizable company during the 8 and 16-bit days. With a litany of great games like Blaster Master, Aero the Acrobat, Spy Hunter, and many others in their library, SUNSOFT certainly made their presence known years ago.

While it’s been quite some time since SUNSOFT had any major output in the industry (Blaster Master Zero not withstanding), it seems like the company is ready to bring their name back to the forefront. SUNSOFT has announced that they’re hosting a virtual event, and it’s set to air next week.

Mark your calendars for Aug. 18th, 2022 at 4 PM ET, SUNSOFT will be hosting a virtual event to unveil its plans for upcoming titles to be published in 2022 and 2023. Yuichi Ochi, General Manager of SUNSOFT, shared a comment on the virtual event as well, which you can see below.

“Although we have been quiet for some time, many things have been happening behind the scenes. We are very excited to be able to finally share our vision for the rebirth of SUNSOFT with fans old and new.”
