Yesterday, GAME FREAK hosted a talk at the CEDEC 2022 (Computer Entertainment Developers Conference) where they discussed various topics such as Pokémon Legends Arceus’ development, Pokémon models and effects and how they are used, and how they are able to re-use certain animations for specific Pokémon.

While the presentation was in Japanese, Twitter user Lewchube walked us through it with some tweets in English and showing us screenshots of what they were showing at the time.

As you can see here, we finally have confirmation of something that was speculated a while ago, that both Pokémon Legend Arceus and Scarlet and Violet were being developed almost at the same time.

Here you can see that they are able to re-use animations for Pokémon with similar structures, which helps save time and to be more efficient.

And finally, here you can see some never seen before concept art for Jubilife Village from Pokémon Legend Arceus.

If you want to learn more about what they showed, we’d suggest you follow Lewchube for more translations on the event (and even more coming in the near future.)
