Enjoy another round of gameplay from Sonic Frontiers
Surely not the final frontier
The Sonic Frontiers coverage has been coming hot-and-heavy in the last couple of weeks, with SEGA doing interviews, sharing story details, providing screenshots, and generally spreading the word on the game. Today brings us yet another bit of content to enjoy in the form of more gameplay.
SEGA has taken Sonic Frontiers around to the Japanese gaming press to let them dive into the game and see what it has to offer. In the clip above, we get to see some more Open Zone gameplay, along with some Cyber Space action. It’s a good mix of classic Sonic fun with some of the new direction as well.
Worlds are colliding in Sonic the Hedgehog’s newest high-speed adventure! In search of the missing Chaos emeralds, Sonic becomes stranded on an ancient island teeming with unusual creatures. Battle hordes of powerful enemies as you explore a breathtaking world of action, adventure, and mystery. Accelerate to new heights and experience the thrill of high-velocity, open-zone platforming freedom as you race across the five massive Starfall Islands. Jump into adventure, wield the power of the Ancients, and fight to stop these new mysterious foes.
There are so many little things this game is missing that make the running stages feel barren or the fights lack weight & impact. It's hard to tell what moves are doing serious damage or if you're fighting them the right way. The Camera snapping to a close up of sonic doing a parry or special move isn't doing it for me, rather it takes me out of the game more than anything else.
