HORI renames the Split Pad Fit the Split Pad Compact for worldwide release
A new name and a better fit
Roughly a month ago, HORI surprise-revealed the Split Pad Fit, a new version of their popular Split Pad Pro. This accessory is meant to make Switch portable play more comfortable by providing a bigger grip for players to hold onto.
Today HORI has revealed that the Split Pad Fit is getting a worldwide release, but it’s also getting a new name. The Split Pad Fit is being called the Split Pad Compact outside of Japan, and you can see the debut English trailer above.
The Split Pad Compact is largely the same as the Split Pad Pro, but it uses a sleeker design compared to the original release. That said, the Split Pad Compact still lacks HD Rumble, NFC and wireless functionality. All other features from the Split Pad Pro have been retained.
The Split Pad Compact, priced at $50, will be available in light gray x yellow or apricot red, and Amazon has it listed for a December 7th, 2022 release.
