Director Rian Johnson shares his love of Pokémon GO

Rian Johnson is one of the bigger names in Hollywood, having written/directed the science-fiction thriller Looper (2012), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), and Knives Out, just to name a few. His latest project is called Poker Face, which is filming right now. Johnson is on set making sure everything comes together, but he’s also spending some time catching a Pokémon or two.

Johnson took to Twitter to mention that he’s back working on Poker Face right now, and you can see his tweet above. Clearly there’s a little bit of downtime when filming the project, as Rian had enough time to fire up Pokémon GO to take an AR pic. Rian may be a director and filmmaker, but clearly he was a Pokémon trainer long before that!

If the higher-ups in Hollywood saw that one of their projects was being helmed by someone playing videogames on the job, they might be a bit miffed. When that person is Rian Johnson, his achievements in the industry have no doubt bought him quite a bit of slack!
