TIME shares their 'Best Games of 2022' list
What do you think of these picks?
TIME magazine has once again put together a list of games that they consider to be the best of 2022. Sure, there’s still a handful of big-name games due out this year, but TIME apparently feels confident that those titles won’t earn a place on their list.
You can see TIME’s top 10 list below, and as you might expect, it does include some Switch titles. There’s no Nintendo-specific titles on the countdown, but there are a number of titles that you can pick up on Switch right now.
- God of War: Ragnarok
- Horizon: Forbidden West
- The Quarry
- Elden Ring
- Stray
- The Last of Us Part 1
- Sifu
- Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

6M agoInteresting to see Sifu on it. Heard about this game and saw some gameplay footage. Will at least put it on my wish list!

6M agoAs far as Switch games, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 should be on here. The editor probably either didn’t have time to give it a fair shot or overlooked it as the gaming equivalent of a “genre” film.

6M agoNintendo didn't get a look-in. No Xenoblade Chronicles 3, no Bayonetta 3, no Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope(though Ubisoft made it), no Kirby and the Forgotten Land, no Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Those are the Nintendo games of note this year and of those, only Xenoblade Chronicles 3 can maybe feel aggrieved. And you know, they may all be Nintendo published, but none of them were made by Nintendo. At least next year we should get Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and that will make the 2023 list.
